A proper development fixture

Gabriel Moore

This fast-paced match starting at 2:30 in Newmarket initial started off with high possession for Cambridge South. However, the M7s scored the first goal 10 minutes prior to half time thanks to Rob hitting it in via a slight deflection.

After half-time Newmarket M4s scored a quick goal evening the score.  he match stayed very close until the last 10 minutes where Rob scored again from a short corner, hitting the ball into the bottom right corner of the goal and giving us the 2-1 victory.

[Ed: The umpire added: I thought it was a really good game, played in the right spirit".  That the match was evenly balanced but decent meant it was one that all the youngsters would have enjoyed and learned a lot from.  That’s the way Dev matches should be; they should neither feel like juniors fixtures, nor M2s fixtures.  Oh, and also get well soon to John Greaves who injured his finger in the second half and needed to depart early to A&E.]
