Hannah Snow Hannah Snow Hannah Snow
Kim CooilOh the weather outside is frightful
But our play was quite delightful
Since we’ve got places to go
Hannah Snow Hannah Snow Hannah Snow
The goals didn’t show signs of stopping
But Hannah Snow started hopping
We started to pass and flow
Hannah Snow Hannah Snow Hannah Snow
When we finally turn up the fight
And the defence are marking tight
The deflection training starts to show
Hannah Snow Hannah Snow Hannah Snow
The match is slowly dying
And Rhian is on the floor lying
But Maddys upgrading so
Hannah Snow, Hannah Snow, Hannah Snow
SO many match report ideas buzzing through my mind; finally I get my chance;
SQUASHIES, Overrated?
Too old for this; a letter to GenZ
10 steps to flawless skin, by Alice Wright
Unfortunately reeling from being lemoned for my lack of S(n)o(w)ciability I’m freezing my above ideas for another day.
In the first play of the game Hannah’s opposition man played the ball straight onto her (big)foot. Like the trooper she is, Snow ploughed on, before having to declare herself beaten by the mountain.
Feeling relaxed after our pre match winter warmer, we played some excellent passing hockey, carving through the opposition until we won a short. Melting the opposition with our on fire form, Kerryn up top snow cannoned the ball, potentially going off piste of the far post, only for a perfect reverse stick deflection from Al.
The goals snowballed from there. Our very own Ice-Queen Izzy passing perfectly across D for a Rebecca slot in. Tildy had another snow stopping straight to left short corner goal.
Absolute work rate from the 3 valleys themselves; Kerryn, Alice and Mollie in midfield kept up the flurries of attack meanwhile our defence held strong putting in some important tackles and Louise stood strong like Mount Blanc.
At half time the opposition stood at the foot of the mountain knowing it was surely an impossible climb from here?
With visibility becoming poorer by the second Kerryn managed sneak up for a few more runs down the wing whilst the ice was forming under skis. There were a few wipe outs with at least 3 south slips. My fave was Nics as she tried to take out the opposition too.
We had a couple of hairy dismounts off the chair lift but avoided being banished from the slopes. Most notably Rhian engaging (in some parallel turns) after the head of ski school made it clear she was not ready (please return to snowplough).
Second half had some blizzard-esque intensity ending in a goal for Mads and Rebecca.
In the end MOM was Alice for her ice-cool finishes. After a successful day on the mountain, with only one casualty, we headed in for the Apres
