Frozen Frenemies: L6s vs. L5s - A Cold Clash

A cold and dark Saturday saw the L6s face off against our friends from the L5s in a thrilling home game. It was a close match with plenty of drama, ending in a narrow 3-2 victory for the L5s.

The first half started with high energy, and despite some strong play from the L6s, the L5s took a 2-1 lead into halftime. Our team kept up the fight, showing excellent runs, positioning, and communication throughout. Polly earned POM for her fantastic runs, skills and for scoring both of our goals!

Our defence was solid throughout the match, but as we spent most of the game in the opposition’s half, the defence found themselves braving the cold more than the action. Despite this, they stayed sharp when called upon.

An early injury meant we were down to just one substitute for most of the match, but the team powered through. G made a one-time return after leaving us for rugby, earning a cheeky LOM nomination in the process. Meanwhile, Meg secured LOM for arriving late on the pitch for the second half—keeping us all on our toes!

The L6s had two false starts during short corners, adding a touch of comic relief to the intense game.

Special mention goes to Pedzi, whose stellar saves in goal kept the match within reach. Despite the final scoreline, it was a fantastic performance from the whole team, proving how much we’ve grown together this season.

Well played, everyone—on to the next challenge!
