A long drive for 3 point and 3 goals

Rhi Davies

With the game time changed to 2pm the girls set off from Long Road for the long journey on the bumpy country roads to the fields of Spalding. Before leaving Long Road Lou had solidified herself as LOM by forgetting half her clothes. Luckily she had her kit atleast. Throughout the day Rhi did give it her beat shot to get Lemon, as will be explained.

Girls got a full fifteen minute warm up and were ready to go out for the win. However, the scrappiness of the game ment the game wasn't the clean hockey the girls wanted but Amelia did what she does best, taking a rebound from the short corner and got the ball into the back of the net. The girls had great opportunities through thr inners and screens working the ball up the wings and through the middle but the Spalding keep had a strong game and their centre back made sure to clear her line.

Cominf to the end of the first half, Spalding awarded a short, and Rhi may have forgotten which team she was playing for as she shouted, 'Go On Spppp.... Spppp.... South". Unfortunately, with a great shot on goal that may have hit Rhian's elbow, the score line at half time 1-1.

With a lot to say at half time the girls needed to get ready for the fight, lift the energy and get some more goals. Fortunately the second half was much quieter for the defense which let Hayley come up for some wonderful runs. Goals came from Beth and Emily which were well worked around the keeper. A good 3-1 win, but once again more could have come if we just had a few more minutes.

Teas with half a jacket that resulted in some girls pileing on the sides, some more than others, Rhi's sweetcorn excitement was one thing but the cheese was just too much and went flying over herself and Em. Good teas 1/1! Final Lemon attempt by Rhi was to fall off her seat, but still not enough.

POM was won by Amelia for the reliable goal scoring and great fight with their defence.

LOM as we know when to Lou for her waredrobe forgetfulness.
