A frustrating game

James Morrison

We arrived at a sunny long road with 12 men and a dream (well 13 once Wilco arrived). After a little but of faffing around the match began.

Immediately we were pushing forward deep in to Spalding’s half with lots of early chances with excellent chances for Dexter and George our early persistence was rewarded by a goal tapped in on the line from Dexter a proper center forwards goal!

Half time came and went with little more incident lots of chances for south and very little being allowed past our amazing back line.

Second half began with even more pressure and chances for us some of which should definitely have been goals.

Somewhere in all of this there was an excellent diving shot for George which I don’t remember at all but James P insists was very good.

During one of our many short corners the ball stopped marvellously by Dexter and drag flicked into the top left corner of the goal by Alex however the goal was prevented from going in to the goal by a spalding defenders head of all things.

As the game came towards the end all of a sudden Spalding came back in to the game giving us a lot of challenge most of which we sorted out incredibly well. Until an unlucky short corner was conceded by us and converted by spalding. And that was full-time so an unlucky end to what could have been a well deserved victory.

Special mentions go to Sandy for stepping in in goal despite the fact he probably couldn’t see what was going on most of the time. Special Mention also to Camillo who did very well in his first senior match for the club.
