L3s are back with Spirit (animals)

The CSHC L3s kicked off the league with a hard-fought 2-0 victory over St Ives 2s. The team embraced a fun twist to boost the energy up so after everyone embodied a pack of wild animals, I, earning the LOM title, unfortunately didn’t get there for zoo visiting hours. How tortoiselike of me!

Thanks to a solid first-half performance resulting in two goals from Becs the attacking tigress and Erin the gazelle down the line, (animal) spirits were starting high.

Despite some intense pressure from the opposition, the L3s held firm in defense, supported by a standout sleek and agile Pink Panther known as goalkeeper Selene, proving to be an unmovable force between the posts.

At the other end of the pitch, the L3s attacked with precision and terrierlike play. Lou C deservedly named POM for her exceptional work in midfield and controlling the play. Her contribution was key in keeping St Ives at bay and setting up attacking opportunities.

While St Ives mounted a determined comeback in the second half, the L3s defence held firm led by a hippo, a bear, guinea pig and Tina the giraffe so despite the obvious height advantage her nimble footwork stood resolute and denied the opponents any breakthrough.

The match could have used a bird’s-eye view, as Katy our very own seagull - I mean eagle, would have been able to track the fast-paced action from above!

In the end, the L3s showed their mettle all in good fun – as the team’s spirit remained as strong as ever. With the two early goals proving to be enough for the win. A great start to the season!
