Everyone's a winner
Tom WalshOn a windy Saturday afternoon, Cambridge South Men's 6s lined up with a good mixture of experience and youth. Two very excited teams, ready to play. We had a few new players Karl in goal, Seb as centre-mid and Luke up front on the wing. Cambridge South Men's 6s played a regular formation with substitutions every 6-8 minutes. This structure was held well the whole match.
The first few minutes were tense, with both teams making great runs, but then Newmarket scored two goals in quick succession. Newmarket Men's 4s had a few attacks that were shut down by Etienne playing in centre-back for (for the time). A player from Newmarket received a green card that was escalated later on in the game. Cambridge scored a goal just before half time to make the score 2-1.
After halftime, a player from Newmarket received a head injury, which was dealt with quickly. We hope he is OK. Cambridge had many chances, including several shots on goal and many short corners, but ultimately Newmarket were able to score their third goal. Seb managed to score a goal. This left the final score at 3:2 to Newmarket.
Overall, the winner was Newmarket Men's 4s with everyone shaking hands and happy.

Three way tie, eh?
