The quest for goals continues

Freya Lockwood

If you read Jans previews each week, You may have noticed that the L2s don’t score many goals (don’t worry, we are aware). So this week’s only mission was to go and score some goals (if you don’t have time to read all of this, we didn’t score any).

The quest started off well with little miss forgetful leaving the kit bag in her car…in Cambridge #somecaptain #lemon . Luckily Pelis lent us a ball stash so we could attempt to score some goals in the warm up (note: we did! Sadly these ones don’t count). We started the game off strong, holding off the Pelis attacks (note: one of them being a South Africa international!!). The defence stood their ground and kept them at bay until a very nifty short corner routine put them ahead just before the break.

We did manage to get the ball up the pitch and have a go at goal ourselves! But to no avail, and before we knew it, in flies a tomahawk and Pelis are 2-0 up. No stopping that one (‘wish I could do that’ was a common reaction). And so, we marched on, and had our best attacks of the game in the second half, with crosses coming in from all directions and testing the keeper multiple  times…But we just can’t get the ball in the net! Final score was 3-0 to Pelis, and we travel back from kings lynn proud of how we played, but ready to correct the scoreline next time :)
