The Wolves versus the Stags

James 'Wolf' Parsley

The wolves set out for the hunt in high spirits but it was a long run and some older members of the pack were likely a little stiff by the time they arrived. So stiff in fact Alpha wolf Barton was off target (or were the goals not in position) putting his first effort on the post. Nevermind the fresh young pup  Midnight (Dex) swept it in. 1-0 to the wolf pack. Unfortunately the prey were a mix of experienced craggy stags some younger easier prey and one silver haired ripped super buck with lightning reflexes. He single handedly pressed the wolves defence to get 3 short corners which were converted into 3 goals.
Alpha Barton limbered up at half time and soon slotted one home. But the stags were circling well and defended long enough for a breakaway goal. 4-2. Another 2 foot shot from Barton made it 4-3. Opportunities were missed by the wolves and further break away goal for the stags left the bewildered wolves to trapse a frikking long way home with their tales between their legs. There were some noteworthy rolls (rolling) on the pitch from Jordan and Jan, but the oustanding play came from the pups with Oldie (Newan) Super James Morrison and Midnight all getting MOM nominations. The wolves did also come away with their pound of flesh as Wonga (James) wolf tore down a stag as he approached the D leaving his carcass to be dragged off the blood splattered pitch for the rest of the game. Somehow the yellow award he should have got on the pitch wasnt even given after the match. That honour went to the player quoting that the lost game felt like a draw. I can assure you thats not how i feel. The trek home accompanied by radiohead and stereophincs... suicidal thoughts.. roll on next week... That is if anyone is left standing from all the self and own team harm on the pitch.
Now where did i put that bottle....

Scored our first goal after 5 mins, as wingback, only the first of many excellent plays keeping us in the game
