Match Report: Cambridge South vs St Ives – 0–6 (but we don’t talk about that bit)

It was a great team effort from South this week, full of determination and teamwork.

Lou was superb in goal, making some cracking saves, while Freya, CJ, Libby, and Elle stood firm in defence with some solid clearances and tackles. Katie M and Hayley were everywhere in the middle, breaking up play and keeping the ball moving, while Jess controlled the centre with calm composure. Out wide, Katy B, Louisa, and Coco worked tirelessly to push the ball forward, and Emily, Jass, and Mo made great attacking runs up front, keeping St Ives on their toes.

There were wide-ranging POM nominations across the team, but the final honours went jointly to Libby and Hayley for their outstanding performances in defence and midfield.

I was heartlessly voted LOM after arriving a little late (for a very good reason — helping with a friend’s proposal!)

A tough result, but full of South spirit — teamwork, grit, and plenty of purple pride!
