Mutiny in the M4s

James Mansell

The M4's glorious leader is writing this match report due to a clean sweep of lemon votes. I'm unsure how long the mutiny will last...but maybe I need to 'clean' up my pre match talk and the 'experience' I expect the team to provide.

As for the hockey. Well Bourne Deeping arrived as table toppers and played as table toppers. Starting fast Deeping were on top and gained a foothold in the game from a penalty corner. However, South grew into the game and more than held our own as the first half wore on. 1-0 at halftime was a fair score.

A change in formation and South started to ask more questions of Deeping. Ivo and Dan G were unlucky not to claw back a deserved equaliser. Deeping showed their quality right at the end of the game with a well worked PC, their celebration displaying their relief from a really competitive 70 minutes.

The M4s performances from the beginning of the season to now have improved so much. If we can compete and hang around with the top teams in Div4 for 70 minutes, we definitely need to aim high and carry this confidence and belief forward.

Shout out to a couple of M4s

Dexter - impressive start at this level!

Huw P - Solid as always - Can he come training?

King Arthur - Ballerina down the right

Matt W - M4s glue guy and especially yesterday helping the club out with the Cantabs bar

Just maybe, just maybe, this glorious leader knows what he is doing....;)
