After an unfortunate run of cancelled games, the 6s assembled a full team, with even a couple of subs courtesy of double-ups from superstars Freya and Lauren. It was a good performance against probably one of the stronger sides in this league (Spalding came down from the division above last season), by a team who were new to playing together. Highlights included two excellent goals from Alice M-F (meaning that her goal per game ratio in senior hockey currently sits at 100%!) and some brilliant , perfectly-timed tackles by Poppy in defence. There was tireless running from Sophie, Lyra and Vicki , to name a few, in midfield, and strong play at the back by Niamh and Lottie – the latter also doing a really good job of pushing up to support the midfield. Many short corners were bravely defended, many of them successfully – courage was required as their striker had power as well as a knack of finding the gap just inside the post.
