A magical match report from a poorly POM princess* x
Mo Hall
Today I am going to compare each of our superstar 15 to Disney characters - did u know I went to Disneyland and got super ill**. I would like to add I can’t remember anything about the game so taken liberties from last week also.
Freya - our captain, Mickey Mouse. She brings us all together and the reason we show up each week and just get on and play some hockey. This is Mickey rallying up
his troops. Heads turn to her for advice, she’s centre of it all because she’s not only our leader, but also an amazing defender and super dependable like mickey. Go Mickey!
Emily - Minnie Mouse. Em didn’t play today but gets a feature as she provides sideline hype and is our vice to our Mickey. You can’t have Mickey without Minnie. Those two do all the hard work to let us goofballs on the pitch.
Daisy - lightning mcqueen, so blooming fast - kachow! Daisy went all out on her speedy runs Grand Prix style. She is speed. I just hope she was born before this film came out otherwise that will make me feel very old.
Jess - tigger. This girl hop skips and jumps her way across the pitch and distributes that ball in her attacking mid position. Also will bounce over to support you on the pitch and gave her some POM noms. Also, despite being one of the ill people can still be so blooming fit and solid here there everywhere - serious tigger energy.
Izzy P - simba. Everyone loves simba. Super solid player and just a joy to watch. Much like the lion king musical show Han and I watched (twice) last week.
Rhi - Buzz lightyear. This gal has energy for days, giving her a POM nom. She is a bullet and determination that Buzz really channels, just needs that green outfit (was there a green card last week?!), or, at the very least, a top on before pushback (earning her some LOM votes) and jobs a goodun. We love BUZZ
Harry - tinker bell. Small sized human = magical powers that go beyond all of us. Will just whizz up and down the pitch at the speed of light which pretty sure gives fairy energy. This gave her some POM noms today too <3 Also magic ups painkillers and spare lucozades when you need them. A lean, mean, green (tinkerbell dress?!) machine xx
Hayley - Hercules. Sorry Hayley for giving you a bloke BUT hear me out. We all love Hercules for his strength and wisdom he brings (giving her some POM noms), which is you on and off the pitch and we all look up to you (and technically him as I expect he’d be quite tall!!). Hayley’s power also shone through in some LOM noms for falling over, showing her commitment to the battle against the underworld (Peterborough). Also some fantastic songs come out of that film - no relevance just an excellent movie.
Pimms - Peter Pan. Again hear me out with the bloke assignment. I actually went on the Peter Pan ride and it was honestly so whimsical - 10/10. You glided around that pitch in midfield like I imagine Peter flying around in London in the 1800s. Also the live action actor let’s all remember how fit he was.
CJ - Mrs Incredible. This girl will pull off a dribble situation like she’s getting out of some serious trouble. Much like Mrs I, she will get that ball out of the Peterborough possession and into safety - CJ we thank you for your service.
Jenny - Winnie the Pooh. Jenny you are just a joy on and off the pitch you can’t help just feel good honeypot vibes with, much like Winnie. Dependable and solid defensive play, will still be beaming even if her aerials (last week) went over rails. If I was going to queue for meeting a character in Disneyland it would’ve been for Winnie.
Nic - Jessy (TOY STORY!!). Ok Jessy is a legend. Jessy is an innovative and hardworking girlie, much like our Nic. Nic won’t let those P’borough guys get past without a fight. That disguised slap that crosses all quarters of the pitch? Clever that, got her a POM nom. Only Jessy would think of this.
Zoe - Sleeping beauty. Carrying on from last week and you sleeping over the meet time LOL (LOM votes still carrying on from this). You are though ever so graceful in your play in midfield and got us that golden goal that got us our point, giving her some POM noms. We thank you also for your service princess, sleep well xx
Libby - Olaf. Omg Libby this makes me giggle please love Livby as I love Olaf. Olaf gives humour and wholesomeness in one which is you. But he also is a hardcore made of snow and is not afraid of warm hugs- much like you not being afraid to defend like a brick (giving her a POM nom) and get involved where most would be like nope I like my unbruised body.
Lu - stitch. Stitch, much like Lu, is really cute. Stitch also sometimes wears a costume to look cuter (rewatch the film if unacquainted, there is also now a live action btw), much like lu and her goalie kit. Stitch’s defensive skills when the heat is on is second to none, very similar to our Lu when Peterborough were in our D. Stitch did get some LOM votes, but she was so out of this world and far away from me I never saw this behaviour up front. Ohana means family, Lu you’re in ours despite your childish giant wotsit tendencies x
Mo - you guys can decide that one. Feeling currently like Eeyore, dopey, goofy, chip or dumbo (if you can’t remember these characters please revisit your Disney days**) for forgetting to wash my top from last week (LOM) and getting rather ill, however, I have been nominated by my fellow Disney characters as today’s poorly POM princess too xx happy with that. Will go to Disney/get ill more often.
*disneyland Paris not sponsoring this match report
** I would like to say I am actually not obsessed with Disneyland. Hannah and I just thought it would be a giggle. Please no judgment. Not giggling now with the chest infection situation.
*** these character assignments are inspired from true events - artistic licensing may have also happened.
Oh I forgot to comment on the game - basically all the drama happened in the first minute. Peterborough scored off a short and we were like ****. But then we scored from Zoë’s wonderful reverse very soon after. The rest of the game was just a bit stressful hence Disney. Thank you to all our supporters though today, as mr Disney has told me himself, magic lies in all of us xx
