Cambridge South ladies 5s, led by temporary captain Sarah V, put up a good fight against Haverhill, but sadly lost 1-3. We played well and had chances that didn't result in goals. The play was pretty even throughout the match. South were playing pretty defensive in the first half, with occasional breaks up the other end of the pitch. Haverhill got a goal just before the end of the first half. In the second half, Haverhill got a goal from a free hit - player of the match Lydia saved an impressive 3 shots on goal, before sadly letting the 4th one in. South got their goal from a short corner. Vicky G scored the goal. Haverhill got their final goal from a short corner. As well as votes for Lydia, there were player of the match votes for Martha, Hattie and Gina for their defending, for Rosie, Vicky and Nicki for their movement and interceptions in mid field. Victoria won lemon of the match for throwing her stick at Elodie and for how gracefully she took off her tracksuit bottoms! All in all a great match and all should be proud of their performance
