"We'll count the bruises later" 

Pelicans arrived unbeaten and we knew what sort of battle we were going to have. Pelicans have been a familiar competitor for some of the 2s for multiple season, so a strong team talk and warm up was needed. Freya came out with a fire in her belly and the team were ready to go!

Unfortunately within the first five minutes after a scrap in the D the girls were 0-1 down. Pelicans had come out ready to win, however South settled into the game a fought off many short corner with fab saves from Lou and fantastic runs down the wing from Tilly, earning them both PoM. South had some fabulous opportunities, and so nearly managed to equal the scoresheet at the end of the half, but Pimms deflection was denied by the posts. 

The second half saw a repeat of the first, another messy goal lead to Pelicans gaining their second goal in the first five minutes. The girls continued to fight the whole way through the games with some areas become more physical, with the Pelican comment of "counting the bruises later". Unfortunately for Hannah, Rhi after deciding to join the team, also decided on some friendly fire, running across the D to run straight into her head, securing Rhi her secong consecutive LoM of the season. 

0-2 finish, a very strong performance from the girls and one to be proud of. We just need to get the ball in the back of the net, the time will come!
