The Youngsters Show the Way

Ky Ho

There are a number of classic things about the this game:

1. A cohort of youngsters supported by a bunch of oldies as a platform for their growth

2. If we had finished our chances we would have won, selectively forgetting the number of chances the oppositions missed

3. The joy of winning the second half 3:2. The 0:3 first half is forgotten like those of us from Wales forgot that there is such a thing as rugby 6 nations going on.  You can say that it was a game of 2 halves

4. The team talk of half time getting the CDMs to help with going deeper to help with the defending had it's desired effect.  The author remembering that such half time tweaks have been mentioned many times over the last 3.5 decades (yes, at the same club).  May be next came, we implement this from the start of the 1st half??

5. Rob found himself on the scoresheet

The less classical aspects:

1. A goalie playing outfield and an outfield player playing in goal. Confused?

2. Harry scored a deserved goal after sheer amount of persistence

3. The umpiring team was a young and not so yound combination. Great to see the young 'uns taking on umpiring duties.

All in all a good game and those youngsters will continue to grow by the game.  Fraser walked away with MoM. Noah never stopped running and gave the opposition a great deal to think about through the game.

Surfing the line of legitimate tackling. (But an awesome performance other than that!)
