2–0 for two caterpillar cakes

In the second game of the week for the L2s, we set up ready for another big W and 3 points. Cue a straightforward team talk - let's do what we did on Thursday again please. Bad luck if you weren't there!

*Sadly this lemon did not join these pre game festivities, so a birthday lemon was quickly secured, doubled down with forgetting to pack a home top and slipping and falling all over Long Road's glorious pitch.

We settled into our rhythm and quickly established pressure on Peterborough, resulting in lots of time in their half of the pitch.
Peterborough were quick to counter and attempted to hold a forward very high keeping Lu company in hopes of a getaway goal. The congested D in our attack made for the simple challenge of getting the ball in the goal. Short corners came and passed with very (read very, very) close calls. More attempts came where the ball certainly looked like it was in the goal - but clearly not.

Eventually our efforts were rewarded (somewhat) by a defensive stumble on Peterborough's parts, giving us a goal and them the almighty own goal.
With our attack ever persevering, Jas got the goal she had been waiting for: a glorious cheeky number reverse flicking and lifting into the back of the net.

The clean sheet and win are positives, the scoreline still flatters the opposition. We created numerous chances and should have added several more goals, something we'll be back with a vengeance to secure.

Defensively, we were solid throughout, limiting the opposition to very few opportunities (Lu contributed fab vibes, direction from the back and the ever useful ball retrieving).

Maintaining our structure and discipline is really paying off and it's a proud moment when we adapt it each game to pressure our oppos further.

A strong team performance, shout outs to many in the POM votes, with Coco taking the crown for her fight in midfield and determination.
