PLUM Day 1: Witham
Will TownleySouth opened their PLUM tournament with a hard-fought 3–2 win over Witham.
The opener came from Jacko, sliding home after a sharp pass across goal from HL7. Witham hit back via a short corner, but South regained the lead when Teddie scored from a second-phase set piece on debut. Witham equalised again with a reverse hit from a fast break, only for South to press high and strike back decisively with a clean hit from the top of the D to secure the win.
Awards:
• MoM: A close contest, with strong shouts for Teddie (debut goal), HL7 (assist and lively play), and Eric (quick hands), but the standout votes went to Pudds, praised for energy, distribution, and safe hands in midfield.
• LoM: Plenty of competition — Sam for his timekeeping and injection work, Pudds, thanks to questionable chat and a run-in with a cat alarm during the warm-up and Teddy for his footwear choice — but the final nod went to Stanley, for conceding 2 goals.
