We’re going on a goal hunt!

Uh-oh some walls, some big, tall, scary walls (Catherine of Aragon had been enclosed behind them)! We can’t go under them, we can’t go over them, we are just going to have to go through them……
- - Except half the team can’t and circle the perimeter for 15 mins!!

Uh-oh some toilets, some smelly, grimy toilets. We can’t go into them, we can’t get out of them, we are just going to have to get locked in them…..
- - Rosie’s advice: “ enact the danger wee: don’t lock but practice speed, precision and a guard” (maybe this was actually the match talk who knows)!

Uh-oh a slow pitch, we can’t pass as quickly, we can’t get leading runs, we will just have to play a lot in midfield, run and intercept!
- - Shree, Fi and Elly mopped up the attacks and then distributed well to Becky and Katie who made some excellent runs and drives towards goal and getting the ball up to Frankie, Naomi, Polly and Lily, pressing in the D. 10mins….GOAL with a strike in from Becky D (POM) and a delightful deflection from Polly! 1-0!

Uh-oh a St Neots striker, she can’t go under us, she can’t go over us, she is just going to go through us. Squelch. Wrong Goal! 1-1.

Uh-oh a long pass into our defensive D, it can’t go over us, it can’t go under us, it’s just gone through her and us. Graze, graze, oh dear it glanced her stick in the circle. Wrong goal! 1-2
- - Even the Neots attacker looked bemused and had meant to stop the ball not deflect it with the faintest of glances. Initially she thought she had missed a stop not scored a goal!
We’re going to half time, we are going to get some big sweets, what a beautiful day, we’re not scared!
Uh-oh a Fi, a flailing arms, excitable Fi. She can’t go over people (she is too short), she didn’t go under people, she just almost smacked Nicole in the face! Swishy swashy, swishy swashy!
- - Good half time chats and some sweets and motivation. Let’s get them goals!

Uh-oh (for Neots), we have a penalty corner. We can’t go over them, we can’t under them, we will just have to blast it through them! GOAL 2-2.
- - A brilliant strike from Becky, saved by the keeper and deflected up in the air but swiftly dealt with by Polly who smacked it down against the backboard!

Uh-oh a slippy pitch, we can’t go over it, we can’t go under it, we are just going to slide down it. Stumble trip, stumble trip, Rosie, Zehra, Rosie, Shree, Naomi, Nicole, Rosie.
- - Rosie did a lot of splits and rivalled the ice dancers at the Winter Olympics for her floor sits (earning her LOM)! Shree played dead bugs with legs akimbo but was still POM!

Uh-oh (for Neots again) a break away run, Frankie to Lily, Lily (POM) can’t go over the goalie, she doesn’t go round the goalie, she steam rolls through the goalie! GOAL! 3-2 to us!

Uh-oh what’s that, two big eyes, two ears and a great big looming stick, It’s the proverbial bear- St Neots want another goal! ARGH.
But they can’t go under us, over us or through us. Block-block, block-block:
- - Our wall of steely defence in Rosie, Julie, Nicole, Ellie R and Zehra let nothing through them, not even a late short corner. Rosie also blindsided them all with the most extravagant de-face masking of all time (another LOM event)
Quick back up the slippy pitch, slip slap, slip, slap. Back into midfield, intercept, intercept. Back into our attacking D, tap-tap, tap-tap. Hear the final whistle, WHOO WHOO! 3-2 to us!!!
Quick back home, up the stairs, under the duvet cause it’s cold and we got no teas……we probably WILL go on a Goal (Bear) hunt again!!!
