The first league game of the season saw the 5’s with a relatively new squad with two debuts for South. Some unlucky goals scored in the first half left South trailing by two. Alice pulled the 5’s back to 1-2 in the second half with a great goal earning her POM. Some great defensive play by Rebecca, Tara, Poppy, Astrid, and Niamh and super goalie Loopy ensured St Ives scored no more! Some great runs by Nooshi, Rose, Sophie M, Sophie R, and Rosie broke through St Ives wall of players. Alice and Charlotte made the most of the breakthroughs, driving into the D and keeping calm even with the pressure from a strong St Ives defence. All in all a great start to the season, and looking forward to seeing how the team progresses!
