Now the advertising is done, a summary of events. Long Sutton came into this on the back of a 4-1 win in Kettering in their first match back at this level. The 4s have grand aspirations of finishing 5th to 7th apparently. So perhaps one might have expected a Sutton victory. 
Yet South were 1-0 up after about 5 minutes and 2-0 after 10, courtesy of a classic Ivo reverse. South looking penetrating playing nice hockey, Sutton less so playing route 1. As the half went on however, things slowly started to turn as Sutton started aiming primarily for our feet, ending up with a goal with the last hit of the half. 

Second half we needed to get things under control, and that we did with a couple of fairly quick goals for Dexter and Theo (on debut!) to put South firmly into he ascendency. Sutton pressed hard, with their 2 best players linking well, but rather lacking in that killer threat despite many many shorts against us. 

However against that we had some nice attacks, really counter attacking with speed, one of which bought Dexter a second off a nice piece of work at the top of the D. 

End result a 5-1 victory, things looking good for the 4s if that standard and potency can be maintained.
