If hockey matches were judged purely on determination, second-half dominance and enthusiastic celebrations of goals that never actually happened, L4s would have walked away with all three points.

The visitors got themselves on the scoresheet early, taking the lead in the 8th minute but the L4s worked hard in the unpredicted late September heat to battle back. The first half proved to be a challenge, but there was no panic—just the quiet confidence that the second half would tell a different story.

And tell a different story it did.

The L4s came flying out after the break, piling on the pressure and pinning the opposition back. The breakthrough arrived in the 49th minute when Anna whipped in a perfectly placed cross, finding Amy on the P-spot. Amy made no mistake, calmly dispatching the ball into the back of the net to level things at 1–1.

The celebrations had barely settled when the opposition sneaked another goal in the 52nd minute to regain the lead. However, just four minutes later, Anna glided through and produced an effortlessly smooth goal with what can only be described as a "bish, bash, bosh" finish. Clinical, composed and stylish. 2-2!

The remainder of the match saw L4s continue to apply relentless pressure. While a third goal never came, the performance showed exactly what this team is capable of when they play with confidence and intensity.

POM was shared between Anna, who kept tireless pressing and for her smooth and skilled goal and Kaylee, who controlled the midfield superbly, showing strength and skill throughout.

Meanwhile, the coveted LOM went to Fi, whose commitment to celebrating was second to none. Unfortunately, both celebrations were for goals that hadn't actually been scored. The enthusiasm, however, was absolutely elite, and frankly deserves recognition in its own right.

Overall, it was a fantastic team performance. After overcoming a tricky first half, L4s showed resilience, worked brilliantly together, and demonstrated the kind of hockey that bodes very well for the rest of the season. If this is a sign of what's to come, it's going to be an exciting year.
