Sun, sweat and one questionable warm-up choice as South took on March Town 1.

We started brilliantly, going 2–0 up with Sophie R getting both goals. Sophie L and Lou also had some great passing up the sideline, helping us move the ball forward. The defence were having a great game too, keeping March Town out of the D and not giving them much to work with. Niamh, Gina, Poppy, Lou, Sammy and Astrid worked hard, with Astrid putting in some great tackles and sending some very satisfying hits up the pitch.

Unfortunately, we then let March Town score three in a row and suddenly found ourselves 3–2 down.

Wei made some important saves to keep us in it, while Charlotte had a great game in the D with some lovely work on the ball. Alice and Rosie also had some good movement, with Rosie doing particularly well to get past a few players.

Nicola, Rose, Leah and Sophie L worked hard in midfield, with Leah putting in some great runs and Sophie L always making herself available. Sophie R continued to cause plenty of problems down the side and had a great game, earning herself three teas votes and POM alongside Sarah.

Gina arrived late, fuelled by Cheerios, and decided that was enough of a warm-up. She then fell over while trying to play the ball. Somehow, she still had a good game. Lemon of the Match seemed fair.

With the clock running down at 3–2, we won a short corner. Sarah had already told the girls on the sideline she was going to score, and she delivered with a lovely clean hit into the back of the net.
