Flower Power

Katie Crawford

A slightly damp autumn day saw the L1s blossom into life with a convincing 5-1 win powered by the skills of our many flowers. And as always, a big thank you to our brilliant South umpiring!

Liv - Poppy

Bright, unpredictable and capable of stealing the show. Like a poppy finding a place to grow anywhere, Liv appears from every angle in search of a goal.

Amy - Tulip

Elegant, skilful and impossible to ignore. Like a tulip in full bloom, Amy stands out from the crowd and often tops off her performances with multiple goals.

Izzy MP - Thistle (a pretty thistle)

Not to be thought of as a weed in the team, Izzy is tough, competitive and, with a sharp edge, is always ready to get stuck in and unleash powerful strikes on goal.

Emily - Sweet Pea

The youngest flower in the bunch, but growing fast. Emily glides past players with ease and, like a sweet pea, just keeps on climbing.

Alice - Rose

A classic crowd-pleaser. Alice spreads the ball beautifully through the middle while remaining a constant thorn in the opposition's side.

Kerryn - Daisy

Reliable, energetic and always where you need her. Kerryn covers the pitch like daisies cover a meadow, linking play together as part of the ultimate daisy chain.

Evie - Sunflower

Tall, speedy and hard to miss. Evie towers over the opposition while still managing to skill her way past them with ease.

Tess - Buddleia

Known as the Butterfly Bush because everything is drawn towards it. Tess pops up all over the pitch and, for reasons nobody can explain, continues to attract head knocks with the same enthusiasm Buddleia attracts butterflies.

Sophie - Lily of the Valley

A flower known for quietly spreading and thriving. Sophie goes about her work without fuss but always seems to be first to the ball and exactly where she needs to be.

Izzy S - Daffodil

Bright, cheerful and a key part of any spring garden. Izzy covers all corners of the pitch, creating space for the rest of the flowers to bloom, and chips in with the occasional goal too.

Maegan - Snapdragon

Strong, determined and not someone you want to come up against. Maegan is quick to snap the ball away and always adds a few flashes of skill to keep the crowd entertained.

Jenny - Lavender

Consistent, dependable and somehow always calm. Jenny keeps things ticking over, defends strongly and, after years in the side, embodies the true purple spirit of the club.

Zehra - Foxglove

Beautiful to look at but incredibly difficult to get around. Zehra pulls off save after save and proves just as poisonous to the opposition's hopes as a foxglove is to those foolish enough to eat it.

Kim - Dahlia

Bold, powerful and adaptable. Like a dahlia returning stronger every year, Kim seems able to thrive wherever she's planted, stepping into defence and looking completely at home.

Katie - Cornflower.

Feeling slightly defeated by a cold that clearly didn't get the memo, Katie remains as calm and dependable as a cornflower, a familiar patch of purple on a field of green.
