Armed with heaps of subs, multiple Izzy’s (one is never enough) and a motivational quote from Lu’s mum we were raring to go..! something about blueberries.. or was it raspberries..? Anyway it worked as the “blueberries” became “raspberries” after a wobbly 7 minutes our blood was pumping and momentum was moving in our direction!

Following relentless pressure and gorgeous passages of play forward, Coco was rewarded for her tenacity with a cracking goal (a wallop just inside the D!) We kept up the tempo all the way to half time; showcasing some beautiful hockey, tackles, sweeping long balls, clever disguise passes, continuous hassle and some much sharper short corner routines Jan will be pleased to hear (although still fruitless again today..) 

We picked up right where we left off in the second half, refusing to back down, and were quickly rewarded when Charlotte twiddled and twisted to deceive the keeper and slot it home. Following this, we had manyyyyy more opportunities with lots of hairline misses but we never gave up! 

It was a complete team performance from start to finish, perfectly reflected in the POM voting, which was so widely spread that the award was shared three ways between the fabulous Coco, Rizzy, and Rach!

LOM was awarded to glamorous and stylish Bizzy for her questionable choice of warm up footwear (impractical yes.. Ugg-ly maybe not)!
