Men's 3rds just lose out to Ely City 3
Good game. Lots of good attacking play, and enough chances to win. Unfortunately Ely scored with both of their chances and CSouth didn't
A defensive mix up and an unfortunate mis-pass gifted Ely their two goals in the first half. CSouth kept pressing with Dom Nelson at the centre of most things, and were unlucky not to score from the stream of crosses, mainly from Andy Lewis.
The second half was much better after some reorganisation at half time. The width of the pitch was used, and passes were made earlier. Hodge and Greaves almost scored, and finally Dom Nelson bundled the ball over after a hallmark GreavesLewisGreaves short corner routine.
CSouth ended the game on top, with secure defence, and variety in attack, but couldnt get the equaliser.
The post match tea was good.
Dom Nelson
Controlled aggression, showed the rest of the team the way forwards throughout
