10 goals

Sandy Taylor

Since 10 goals is an unusually excellent number, here's the rundown:

1) James (Morrison) scored after maybe 2 minutes. Perfectly placed to receive on the back post and calmly flick up into the goal. Excellent wing back energy.

2) Don't know what they changed in the matrix but we got to see goal number 1 again after another 2 minutes and it still counted on the scoresheet.

3) James (Parsley) scored, we think after something messiness in a penalty corner. Think he was also playing defence at the time. Not clear at this point why we brought any forwards, or indeed anyone not called James.

<interlude: Craig does something lemon-worthy by not retreating more than a metre from a free hit, fortunately this saves the effort of having to invent something>

4) Rob, feeling shown up by the defenders, began to unleash his true power for goal number 4.

5) Rob again, in short order.

6) Jordan took his opportunity, an excellent deflection on a fast hit across goal sending it right over any obstacles.

7) Rob seized the hat trick, just in time for the end of the first half. I think this one was a very nice slip under the diving keeper.

<half time>

8) Rob takes his fourth. This one was broke the dam again a bit, after a period where Kettering defended very solidly at the beginning of the second half.

9) Dexter took an excellent touch, I think once again under the diving keeper, into the waiting goal. An excellent culmination of several good attempts made but saved earlier.

10) Jordan closed things out memorably: solidly holding the ball, back the keeper, turns on a dime to slot the ball home extremely soundly. This one really did look nice.
