South beat Sutton but Sutton get the points!
Before the game was decided in the final few minutes, South scored three nice goals from open play to take the lead thrice. In reply, Long Sutton scored three very well worked short corner routines.
Russell Johnson was the first to strike, getting on the end of a flowing move that took South to the edge of the D. Williams's pass wide of the out rushing keeper was picked up superbly by Wheels who finished well.
A similar move from the left again found the ball at Johnson's feet. He was munched by the keeper but before the short corner could be given, Pearson leapt on the loose ball and drilled it home.
Both South goals were pegged back by Sutton shorts. Williams then slapped in a rebound to again put South in front before Sutton again equalised.
With five minutes to go incessant South pressure in and around the Sutton D produced a good shot that hit the post followed up brilliantly by Pearson, who's goal bound shot hit a defender's foot right on the goal line.

South were awarded a penalty stroke which was dispatched with aplomb, probably by Aston.
South won the hard fought encounter, which on a hot day with a bare eleven was a deserved reward for their efforts!
*****************[note: in some other crazy parallel universe, the penalty wasn't given, Long Sutton ran down the other end, got a penalty flick for exactly the same offence and they won the game]*****************
Dave Aston
Defended really well and made a great run forward that unfortunately ended in a yellow card.
