Shameless Filth

Ginger’s back.

The V2.0 of me is playing today (Wednesday) at 2.30pm at Wilberforce Road, for those looking to catch some mid-afternoon hockey. It promises to be a big game with lots of goals: Plymouth Uni 1 vs Cambridge Uni 1. The last time these sides met the score was 16-1, so a cracking game if a little uneven. All are welcome to go and watch but I wont be there.

Now the sales pitch is over, on to the M3s match…

The warm-up contained too much hand holding and deep eye contact. So when the first half began play descended into a blind frenzy, each team member trying to prove their masculinity by blindly charging at a disciplined Kettering side. These wild attacks didn’t work. We conceded a cracking shot from the top of the D into the bottom corner of the goal, just out of reach of George.

Half time: NBM told the team to play better.

Second half: we played better. With structure and purpose we pressed Kettering into their D. When the first goal came it looked like the flood gates were about to open; we were going to win! Only the great saves of the Kettering goalie kept them in the game. A missed opportunity by Nev settled the game as a draw.

Team Hubris is waking up from it’s slumber. Maybe next week we will finally start winning again?
