Doing bits in the D

Harriet Walker

Well, well, well, where do we start? On time for the most part, an hour and 20 minutes late for those with initials of IE…

The game started with positive vibes following last weeks win and our new mindset: when we believe we achieve.

It was a fairly slow first half with strong defence throughout, feeling safe in the hands of the mighty back line. 20 minutes into the game clearly we decided that was enough, a beautiful ball was sent across the D to Laura who slotted it in around the keeper. 1-0 at half time.

Strong team talks from our lovely coach of the day, shout out our guy Paul who gave us some great feedback: communication needed to be lifted, less ball to the oppositions stick and working the ball around them.

The 2nd half continued with a sea of red surrounding the ball and making it very difficult to work the ball up the pitch. However, we stepped our game up, gave our voices a nice workout and sent the ball flying up the pitch and once again into the D for a lovely strike from Abi which was deflected by the opposition (cheers for the goal hun) but also congrats Abi, bits were done in the D and we’re 2-0 up!

The star of the day was not myself despite a lovely strip tease at the end of the match (enjoyed by all); jealousy isn’t pretty girls. Big shout outs to our gal Kim who played solidly throughout, strong work rate, consistently fighting for the ball and making their life hell, you were a true hero, as always! (also enjoyed your little argument with the other KC, great entertainment girls, I’ll tune in again next week if you’re up for a bit of sisterly love again, can’t resist the sibling drama).

Oh and we never even finished our match... 2 minutes before the end was due, drama begun, ambulances were called, long waits in the rain but 3 points were awarded and the men only had a short 2 hours before the ambulance arrived and their game could commence. Sending our love to the CoP player who got injured, wishing her a speedy recovery.

That’s all for now, over and out from me.

See you next week for another 3 points South siders,
xoxo gossip girl
