One Four All

South were raring to go against a strong St Ives team in the last match before lockdown, with close to a full strength side.

South attacked the game from the off, with some great interplay from the midfield and forward line creating some brilliant goalscoring opportunities in the first ten minutes, which we were unlucky not to take.

Unfortunately we were then caught out by a sucker punch drag flick from St Ives from a short corner, which they’ve always been good at. Three quick goals followed for the opposition, some of which were preventable from our point of view but all very good finishes. In between this, Mark Williams scored yet another poachers goal, his 500th of the season. Will he every stop scoring?

The second half was a more even affair, with no more goals to the game, but there was a case of a launched stick at the opposition from Aston, the less said about the better.

St Ives played very well (best team we’ve come up against this season), we weren’t at our best, but I’m not doing to dwell on that here, we’ve all got two months of lockdown to work out what went wrong before the next game!
