The day started off with gloomy wet weather but with some good locker chat and promise of post match cake, we were all in good spirits and ready to take on Nomads in a colourful rendition of purple vs pink.

The game splashed off and both sides started strong with good passing and team work but South L2s were first on attack in the D and although Nomads goalie was able to block excellent goal attempts from Lucia and Jess, we kept fighting. It was Captain Dani that secured the first goal of the match and the lead we’d been working for. Knowing that there’s still a long way to go, we kept working all through the first half.

Second half arrived and we all agreed to keep it simple. The midfield Tamsin, Soph, Rebecca and Rhi were excellent at feeding the ball through from the backline to the forwards that ensured further goal attempts but it was Rhi that got us that second goal and a nice lil celebration dance!

Niamh, Hayley, Jenny, Nic and Grace made sure that Bryony had limited ball time and defended superbly, so much that Jenny made it all the way to our attacking D! The few goal attempts that made it through to Bryony were defended with ease and we were able to walk away with a 2-0 win!

Tamsin (or we now call her, ‘T’) once again had a stellar of a game and was rewarded the well deserved POM title jointly with Jenny. Jenny was voted joint POM with T for her great aerials, persistent defending and fabulous attacking drives forward!  Smashing job to them both. 
T almost got LOM as well as joint POM, for not knowing what a tap is but with some canoodling it was awarded to Liandi for hitting the post from the short corner!

All in all it was a great game and great teamwork, which we celebrated with post match pizza and cake!
