Sorry about that umpire…

Tabatha Broome

An early morning road trip for the girls today saw Anna kindly remind us all that we are not in "car mode" anymore...

The trip was worth it and we were definitely all performing like some fancy ferraris by the end!

Our match overview as follows....

4-0!!! Over all it was a really good game, Spalding gave us a run around and played well,  but it didn’t stop South, everyone played really well and worked strongly as a team.

Our goal scorers…
Juliette- positioned herself really well and scored 2 goals.
Goal 1) A pass from the midfield line enabled her to drive up the pitch and have a strong shot on goal!
Goal 2) A short sharp pass from Tess enabled Juliette to slap it into the corner of the goal.

Anna - with great positioning on the right wing, she received a clinical pass from the back line enabling her to chip it into the corner of the goal. This great positioning and game play lead to a couple of MOM votes !

Emma - Held the middle of the pitch really well, creating opportunities left, right and centre. During our first short corner Emma received the ball from Steph and slapped it into the goal. Again her strong positioning and passes lead to a fair few Mom votes. Emma also received a couple of Lom votes for falling over.

Tess - had a really strong game. Held the wings really well creating plenty of goal opportunities.

Steph- Also had a strong game worked well with the forwards and mids. Passing the ball into the D and setting up goals!

Louisa - Held the right wing and centre really well. Driving the ball up the pitch connecting the defence and forward line.

Claudia- Helped hold the midfield line well stopping Spalding from breaking through. However her method of intimidation led her to receiving LOM for seeing a bit too much of the umpire …

Katie - A knee injury in the first half meant she had to take some time off. But this didn’t stop her! Katie made some amazing tackles stopping Spalding from being able to get into the D and score.

Anne - also made some beautiful tackles, helping to hold the defensive line.

Hannah - Had an amazing game. On the rare occasion Spalding did break through, Hannah had it covered.

Lydia - stayed strong during a series of shorts in the first half of the game , stopping Spaulding from getting it in everytime.

Finally our MOMs went to the left side of the pitch!!!

Lucy - Had an amazing game! Was solid in defence stopping Spalding everytime. Lucy also worked really well up the pitch connecting players and maintaining a solid defence.

Tabs - got Mom for excellent runs and supporting everyone. This girl didn't stop all game despite the dodgy sausage the night before... from now on Tabs will be sticking to the veg!

All in all a very enjoyable match against a lovely opposition. Well done girls :-)
