Where’s Anna?

We started with Anna W (today’s LOM) jogging to the pitch a ‘tiny bit late’ after having done a ‘tour of the villages’.

But other than that, a strong start showed the 3s almost having a goal within the first 2 minutes and resulted in a short corner. At the same time, Anna clashed slightly with a member of Huntington’s team.

The slow pitch meant that we had to adapt and unfortunately resulted in many feet throughout the game; however our team relentlessly kept possession .

Steph ran up the left side and crossed the ball to the P spot , where Juliette (joint MOM) was standing to secure the first goal.

Half time came and Lydia hadn’t even needed touch the ball yet.

We started the second half with an incredibly strong defence and midline. Tabs was everywhere earning her three MOM votes and was joined by some very solid mid clearances from Sarah- the other joint MOM. The team held their breath as Orla netted the ball neatly in the top left corner of our goal. Almost an own goal but luckily wasn’t touched in the D by Huntingdon. This meant that unfortunately, Orla came away with a LOM vote.

Huntingdon scored the equaliser a few moments later making it 1-1. But South has good possession and later another goal was scored. From Emma J to Juliette- hooking the ball with her stick and rolling out before a push into the goal.

The rest of the match went by with efforts from both teams but the whistle blew a 2-1 victory for today’s team !!
