A match made difficult for ourselves - by ourselves
Juliette StoopLOM for Feline, LOM for Dani, LOM for Juliette ? A match made difficult for ourselves - by ourselves.
So I could start this match report off with the fact that although I was lemon , it was VERY close. But instead I’m starting it off with that we found a car park but it was the wrong one so after we had stepped out of the car , Dani honked at us and zoomed off without letting anyone know where exactly we were going. ** see end of report for details on Feline’s “car incident” ** After this, the cohort found themselves all in the same changing room, a disco taking place thanks to Jenny’s speaker, and Jenny explaining how she can’t clap in time and how she claps like an idiot at concerts . Anyway, the changing room disco saw an encouraging team talk from Dani, and my stick being forgotten. (Subsequent LOM).
On a pitch that was newer and less sandy than anticipated, the sticks went in and rattled before a confident start to the game. The first 10 mins however , are not to be talked about concluded the L2s at half time. Aggressive, chaotic and hectic, the first 10 mins were only slightly catastrophic and messy, but we pulled through. The beginning of the six nations rugby made many appearances throughout the game, but “Wales are playing like we did in the first 10 mins - atrociously, hecticly, but it’s fine !! They’ll pick it up just as we did !” topped it off.
[ I have no sentiments to this statement and should you wish to contradict it, please contact Rhi directly. ]
We picked it up from here - passing well from stick to stick, but after some noteworthy runs and interceptions from Katie (joint POM) , a goal was unfortunately conceded.
The last subbing of players onto the pitch in the first half saw an energised Rhi run onto the pitch and score 2 goals, both within 5 minutes in the last 10 minutes of the first half. Katie’s final run through practically all the opposition through the middle of the pitch was beautiful, but after the ball was intercepted, Dani somehow ended up hitting Katie’s finger which bled and was , according to her, very painful. With 2-1 at half time, we had had at least 5 short corners that hadn’t brought anything to the game, but after a fast talk, we got back onto the pitch.
The second half was chaotic, and saw some cross-country running from Rachel- speeding round in circles but outrunning the defence, before some beautiful hits down the line. Next, Jess got a goal - she was running the wrong way until a forceful “JESSICA” was shouted her way , courtesy of Rhi. And into the goal popped the ball from the post. Something to note about this game was the lack of LOM votes for either Rhi or Jess. Shockingly.
So a 3-1 result. And a jacket potato as teas. With Katie eating many (delicious) cookies made by Nicola.
The end of the day followed the same energy that we saw during the match - LOM for Juliette, LOM for Feline, LOM for Dani, LOM for Juliette AND Feline (“who does that ?!!!”) , LOM for Dani, but eventually LOM for Juliette.
Rhi ran behind Rachel’s car as it was reversing. Jenny shocked everyone with a very cool head towel. And off we drove back to Cambridge.

Feline. This is a chapter in itself. She didn’t get LOM after stalling the car. Then forgetting to pull up the handbrake. Reversing with the door open. The story changed throughout the day, and apparently I almost got run over. I’ll take that if it meant that Feline got LOM but unfortunately she didn’t. We almost had a joined Dutch match report. “Can you write my paragraph in Dutch so that I can read it?” (Google Translate’s Dutch version below)

Katachtig.
