Second again
John GreavesThe sun shone
CSouth started well with possession, spreading passes, running brightly
Long Sutton scored...twice
Half Time
Long Sutton scored 4 more times, mainly from slick short corner routines
Sean G saw Yellow for "over-exuberance",and some testing of the effect of gravity on a stick, and thus earned the Citrus award
Harry Britton did a passable high speed Gareth Bale (Copa Del Ray c2014 vs Barcelona) imitation
Kieran thought he had scored from close range but opposition denials convinced umpires otherwise
Andy Thomas did score, a beauty from long range, but the home team were unable to capitalise on other chances, particularly some whizzy crosses into danger areas from Georg Betts, Kieran Birch, Matt Withington, and John Greaves
Will Burscough (classy defending and turning defence into attack every time), and Kieran Birch (fast on the wing, and increasingly tenacious on the ball), shared MoM glory
Once again enthusiasm, never giving up, support for one another, good camaraderie, and occasional flashes of quality were not enough at this level against some wise veteran opponents and their rapid and skilful younger teammates
Sean Gardiner
Mostly for unscheduled extended half time break at the umpires request, which marred his usual committed and effective tackles, play out from the back and thunderbolt free hits
