A game of two halves

South started brightly with a good seven at the team warm-up.  El Capitan delegated the all-important Lining Up of the Rows duty to The Chairman.

Once the game started it was clear this was going to be a tricky one to navigate.  Wisbech were strong on the ball and that hour on the A1101 adds a certain steeliness to determination.

Despite magnificence from MOTM The Superkeeper the team found themselves a handful down at the break.  Quicker reactions and some fine finishing from the visitors the root cause.

Half time.  Heads-up team talk from The Wise-ards.  And go again.  This time with more oomph in midfield and a switch to the lucky ball.

Game on.  If the first half was The Chalk this was The Cheese.  Two different Otherworlds.  Matching for pace, for determination, for skill (come on go with this) and a much closer contest.  The Chances at both ends.  Penalty corners at both ends.  One more to them.  Alas no Southern breakthrough.

A man down with the perennial infliction of Ankle Ball - which we hope in the cold morning-after light is not too sore - and then time drifted away.

Notable shout to The Debutant for an ultrafine first appearance against tough opponents.  Very well done!  Another victory for The Junior Programme and definitely a future that's even brighter than the team warm-up.
