A victory
Ginny AshcroftIt's a tale as old as time, boy meets girl, girl gets invested, boy leads her on, girl gets dumped.
In this situation the L4s are the girl and league East division North West 3 are the boy who in this instance lead her on for 7 whole months.
For the final sickener and a classic twist girl has to meet boys new girl only a week after the confirmed break up and flounces her hair in front of old girl.
In this instance the break up was losing to Huntington last week to pretty much confirm relegation and the new girl is city 5s, and the hair flouncing is their young forward who should have a 1 way ticket to Paris 2024.
As I sit here, hungover and slightly still drunk at the young old age of 29 I contemplate the last match I played as captain of a team I have been part of for the past 5 seasons. Some would say 8-0 loss is a bloodbath and we should hang our heads in shame, however, the 8-0 loss is not the score line I remember.
No, as I remember the match played less than 24hrs before, I merely remember a scoreline of 0-0, a cleansheet for both teams. But how?! I hear you cry, ginny a score input into gms does not lie!... I'll tell you for why, out of all the defensive shorts awarded, to such a deserving team, we (me, vicky, Nicole, Anabelle, shree and Zoe) did not let them have a single goal. So much so, that in the last minute of the match when I valiantly subbed off to let Vicky have her final minute on the pitch with South (she's personally taking the breakup quite badly and has chosen to move to Surrey as of last week) she refused their final short corner attemptee their obly goal of the match causing said City atemptee to burst into tears at having being unable to score all match.
If that's not a defensive victory - to bring the other sides attacker to tears - I don't know what is.
