Press Release

South 6ths had a fresh-faced look as they took on St. Ives with no fewer than 8 teenagers included in skipper Sandy Taylor’s matchday 16. Their number included three who were making their competitive debut in adult hockey, and of these Gabe Woolf stood out in particular as he put in a Player-of-the-Match performance in attacking midfield. Driven on by Woolf’s constant hustle South arguably had the better of territory and possession, but lacked the killer instinct to put stick through ball in the shooting circle and fell to a 2-0 loss as a result after two breakaway first half strikes from the Saints.
