Fine margins
South edged an emotionally charged but decent encounter against the league leaders.
A balanced game of skilful yet high intensity play was decided 10 minutes in and 10 minutes from the end, sandwiching a decent Peterborough strike during a period of sustained pressure from the visitors.
Fine margins they were indeed...
- Miles touching a PS flick just onto the post. Millimetres.
- Craig slotting in after an improvised PC attack. Syncopation.
- Rich's last ditch off the line clearance. Precision.
- Rob's dive to get to the rebound first. Milliseconds.
Chances were few and far between but both teams had spells of sustained pressure. Emotions ran high. An angry Peterborough player talks himself into the reverse traffic lights - first green, then yellow, then red - in the second half. There was much relief on the final whistle. And despair as keeper kit and face masks and water bottles galore got abandoned in the desperation to exit.
There was almost enough pizza too. You need to sign up if you want to eat some next time South lads!

Harry Britton
Outstanding wheezing. Actually I think it was specifically his lungs that were voted lemon.
