Spalding surrogate match report

Tommy Barton

Actually, this match report was not written by Tommy.  Tommy is too tired.  Instead it was written by Dad in the style of Tommy...

It was a nice warm day for a friendly against the Spalding development side.  We borrowed two of their players each half.  [Ed: big thanks to Danny x2, Stephen and Kevin - what superstars!]

At half time the score was 1-2 with Spalding taking an early lead.  The match ended 2-3 and we couldn't quite nab a draw.  Nice goals from Dexter and James.

Miles was collecting the player ratings and we will update the real numbers here once available.  In the meantime, here's some ratings Tommy actually made up...

Name Rating
David 9
Dexter 8
Harry 8
James 7
Miles 9
Nuwan 8
Rob -1
Sandy 9.5
Seb 8
Toby 9
Tommy 7

Teas afterwards were lovely chip butties which the juniors wasted no time tucking in to.

MoM vote went to David for superb midfield play in his first senior match.
LoM went to Dad for failing to dive, something about cat food, and losing at rock-paper-scissors.

David Swift
Player of the Match

Cracking senior debut from our latest junior graduate, holding his own in a tough midfield, keeping the ball closely under control.

Rob Barton
Lemon of the Match

Not prepared to dive into cat food. LoM was actually a draw with Dexter, but Dexter plays rock-paper-scissors like a pro hustler.
