This is a bit too exciting to be honest

Andy Thomas

I'm in an advantageous position to write this, having played one half for either team.

This was a great pre-season friendly, characterised by decent pace and great composure. Some good use of position and space, communicating and passing.

South got overloads in the attacking 16 again and again, scoring 1:0 in the first half.  Likely more had it not been for some very adept goalkeeping.

Dexter scored a goal in the second half, however Royston scored two, equalising a few minutes before the whistle - leading to the title of this match report.

LoM: Howard, for defecting twice in one game
MoM: Dan T, for dominating midfield

After the match, interim managing skipper Rob B added: "This was a cracking performance from the team, which comprised a mixture of real youth and the young at heart.  Special mention must go to Rueben and Tommy for their respective club and M6 debuts.  And a big thank you to Royston who saw we were a development side and adjusted their play accordingly.  This was appreciated, especially as I'm sure they had another gear or two.  Very well played to every Southerner out on the pitch today."
