M3’s lineup as Arsenal banter era players specifically today

Christopher Clark

The game was a step up into the season. All the goals happened in the first half, with CCR scoring for South. I got carded, and in classic Arsenal fan fashion, will solely blame the... (Editors note, let's stop there before you get a fine). Below is the lineup of today as banter era Arsenal players as I like thinking how much better we (Arsenal) have got as a team and how much better we (South) will get this season.

Ben Lye- Petr Cech- In the twilight years of an excellent career, I personally think Petr Cech was underrated when he was at Arsenal. Ben also wears a helmet.

Alex Pashley- Stephen Lichtsteiner- According to Wikipedia, nicknamed ‘Forrest Gump’ and ‘The Swiss Express’ for energetic runs down the right wing. Perfect for Pash.

Miles Woodfin- Matteo Guendouzi- Was he a wonderkid? Was he not? Either way, he definitely was very feisty, matches Miles and his streak of getting into it with me who's 4 times his age.

Tom Anns- Shkodran Mustafi- Arsenal centre backs of this era were so bad, I can only apologise. However, both a bit of a fan of the dark arts.

Danny McCree- Kim Kallstrom- Arsenal once signed a player with a broken back, Danny got injured the first game of the season, flawless comparison.

Cerne Iveson- Andre Santos- Similarly as Cerne has arrived mysteriously into the squad, few people had heard of Andre Santos before he signed for Arsenal. Has Cerne also left a club in the murky circumstances Santos left Fenerbahçe?

Seb Dias- Granit Xhaka- Crunching tackles and very vocal. Seb has a path to choose, being booed by the entire stadium or a bizarre redemption where he leaves beloved.

James Menzies- Cesc Fabregas- An Arsenal stalwart, who was also often injured. Definitely better than the wider team, but can Menzies’ body (unliked Fabregas) survive a full season.

Christopher Clark- David Luiz- Despite only playing 53 games for Arsenal, David Luiz got 3 red cards in the Premier League, the 6th most of any Arsenal player. I also got carded...

Riccardo Nori- Gervinho- He is very fast. If Riccardo was also in Fifa 13 I would spam the sprint button on my Wii.

Gabe Wolff- Theo Walcott- Gabe is equally rapid, a promising youth prospect, hopefully Gabe never has the indignity of playing for Southampton.

David Shanahan- Nicolas Pepe- Arguable whether this is still the banter era. Both very quick, skilful (Dave has an unbelievable reverse), however neither did score.

Joe Whittaker- Marouane Chamakh- Again Wikipedia describes Chamakh as ‘the prototypical target man’, Joe equally fits that description. Chamakh also scored in pre-season, like Joe but failed to score when it counted.

Jack Chalk- Mathieu Flamini- The keen-eyed Arsenal fans may note that Flamini played for Arsenal twice. Similarly, Jack has been at South for a long time. Flamini also had a ‘combative style of play’, suits Jack well.

Charlie Curedale-Rayner- Nicklas Bendtner- The Lord Bendtner became a bit of a meme but did actually score quite a few and was an effective forward. Charlie scored today. There are very few good banter era forwards.

Josh Rollason- Serge Gnabry- Rapid, very physical, will he develop into a Bayern Munich legend? Would be difficult as Josh lives in Cambridge.
