M5 1-11 Kettering Mens 3
Sandy TaylorKettering started strong from their push back. With a series of quick transitions to players running into space, they took a clean flick into the back of the net before even a minute of play.
With Kettering taking that vital first goal that put us on the back foot. We endured pressure throughout the first half, but not without a couple of excellent chances of our own towards the end.
After an intense half time talk on how to be our best selves and seize back the momentum, we powered out of our own pushback. With a series of quick transitions to players running into space the keeper was beaten by a clean sweep across the goal, tapped in by Seb although it might have been going in anyway.
"This always happens" cried a frustrated Kettering defender as his teammates trooped back into position. I assume he fell to his knees in dismay, but respectfully didn't look over and stare.
Back in the game, we went at it with renewed determination.
Other important happenings in this one: the teas were very good, Wilco owes 4 match reports, and Kettering scored 10 more goals.
