It is truly said that the reward that Britain looks forward to is a cup of tea, and preferably a nice cup of tea with a sit down and a biscuit.  This is acknowledged by everyone from the King after a long day entertaining dubious foreign potentates, to a driver stopping at Scratchwood Services after a long haul.  That biscuity reward, for a hard day’s work, is the hallmark of Cambridge South M5s.  But, just as biscuits all differ in their unique and resplendent variety, so does our team.

James Hartley – Custard Cream.  It has truly been said that the British will give blood for a custard cream, and James is no different, giving his heart and soul on the pitch.

Craig Hall – Tennis Biscuit.  While less recognised in Britain, this classic South African teatime treat is like Craig’s hockey – smashing!

Jordan Walker – Chocolate Hobnob.  This is the one everyone hopes they’ll be offered.

Nev Warren – Delicje.  Iconic biscuit with a smashing orangey bit – but it’s not a Jaffa Cake!  Does have a slight tendency to get fouled relentlessly.

Nuwan Chandratilleke – Party Ring.  Everyone’s favourite.  Hard to get past.

Stuart Creed – Chocolate finger.  Tall, upstanding, and hugely popular.

Etienne Bloomfield – Chocolate Digestive.  Satisfying.  

James Morrison – Fox’ s Crunch Cream.  King of biscuits and king on the pitch.

Jude Plumb – Jammie Dodger.  Twists and skips around opponents.

Dan Talmage – Fig Roll.  Slightly doubtful but solid.

Rob Barton – Bourbon Cream.  The original and best.

Will Burscough – Rich Tea.  Reliable to a fault.

Jan Brynjolffssen – Wagon Wheel.  Centrepiece around which the game revolves.

Sandy Taylor - Nice.  Says it all.

Today, there was also some hockey.  We lost, 3-2.  From my vantage point at the back, I’m going to claim the sun was in my eyes.
