On paper this was looking positive – a full squad who have come on a long way since our 4-1 defeat at Nomads early in the season, a proper GK and the sun was shining. We were up for it but this was not our day. South struggled to keep possession, giving the ball away by trying to pass flat across opponents’ sticks, and slip ups with marking gave Nomads too much space and time in the D. The energy was there but we couldn’t make it gel. There was great play in midfield from Gina, picking up balls and driving through, and some good pressure on the opponents’ D by our forwards,  but we couldn’t translate it to a goal. In summary: Nomads played well, South not so much. The potential for another win is there, just need to keep working at training and go again next week.
