Biblical water hockey
Andy ThomasIn order to combat climate change, the decision was taken to convert Long Road Astro into a new reservoir. A final game was played whilst the Cloud Seeding equipment was activated, spurred on by John Greaves's rain dance. By the time the final whistle blew, the water was knee deep.
As ever, there was a mixture of young and old, fast and slow. Nonetheless we saw cohesion, with plentiful passes (albeit often a second or ten too late). This lead to some great team-work and a decisive number of goals.
-Rob "David John" Barton scored two goals, which were conveniently passed directly to his stick in the D.
-Luke scored a cracking goal from just inside the D, neatly woven through a number of the defenders and the keeper
-Noah also scored a goal whilst I was looking the other way. I'm sure it was great. [Ed: it was another good finish, well deserved.]
MoM was close with several string nominations, Ahmad nosing ahead. Whilst God got an honourable mention, LoM was won by Andy T with 327 votes for attempting to seek refuge from Noah's flood in Ely, and changing hockey club every week.
