Apologies as this was bang in the end of the cricket season and I could only play in the first half!

South played on the penultimate Saturday in August a 5th XI Friendly against Hertfordshire rivals Letchworth HC 5th XI.

The teams were fairly evenly match apart from the clearly experienced Centre Back that could drag flick aerials 3/4 pitch length.  This took South by surprise and we conceded two quick goals to such bombardment.  

South however did not relent and tried to play against the tough conditions of circa 28 degree heat and relentless testing of picking skills.  Noah B glided into the Letchworth circle and caught the keeper off guard at his near post with a quick near post effort to reduce the arrears.  Senior debuts for the skilfull Rob H and Kasper W (junior W literally) were impressive on many levels, alongside Cameron G's and Noah B's first 5ths level game .

South unfortunately coughed up a very impressive drag flick close to the top corner to fall further behind just before the half-time whistle.
