We headed into our latest league fixture against City of Peterborough Ladies 2’s ready for what promised to be a tough game. Peterborough came out strong from the start and managed to put one past us, but we stayed composed and quickly got ourselves back into the game with the equaliser to make it 1-1.

From there, we played some really lovely hockey, consistently breaking Peterborough down and putting together some beautiful balls into the D. Liv made it 2-1 with a great finish, before Charlotte calmly and collectedly slotted away our third to put us 3-1 up. We continued to play positively and looked dangerous going forward, while working hard across the whole pitch.

Peterborough kept fighting and managed to claw their way back into the game, eventually making it 3-4. Despite the scoreline, we continued to battle right until the final whistle and put in a really positive performance across the whole game. A frustrating result, but plenty of positives to take from a game where we showed some brilliant hockey from start to finish.

After the game, we were treated to some lovely teas, where Harry and Lu had the slightly alarming realisation that they might actually be twins, having discovered just how similar they are. Something for the family tree to investigate…

MOMs: Liv and Jenny

Liv’s MOM was thoroughly deserved after an awesome goal-scoring performance. She announced at the beginning of the game that she wanted to score some goals, and she certainly made that happen! Two goals, fuelled by nothing more than a couple of biscuits for breakfast. The power of biscuits clearly knows no bounds.

Jenny also picked up MOM for an awesome defensive performance, charging through Peterborough and putting in a seriously impressive shift at the back.

LOM: Luisa

A very deserved lemon for Luisa, who managed to remember a whistle for the game, but somehow forgot the slightly more important item of equipment: her hockey stick. Priorities.
