South got off to a flying start in the first half, playing some brilliant hockey with plenty of great passing and teamwork. A short corner saw a clever slip to the injector, but unfortunately, a fantastic save from the Nomads goalkeeper denied South the opening goal.

The breakthrough eventually came with a scrappy first goal, finished off with a final hit from Victoria to put South ahead!

Nomads came out fighting in the second half and managed to find an equaliser, putting the pressure back on South. However, South responded brilliantly, with Amy delivering a superb pass that Polly turned into an amazing deflection to get South back on the scoresheet.

Unfortunately, Nomads weren’t giving up and managed to grab another equaliser, keeping the game on a knife edge.

But South had the final say! Some fantastic passing up the line led to a brilliant cross from Molly, which Cat calmly slotted into the corner to secure the winning goal. A great team move and a perfect finish!

A special mention to Rosie, who put absolutely everything on the line today and came away with a melon-sized bump on her head!  We hope you’re feeling better soon, Rosie!

Overall, a fantastic team performance, plenty of great hockey and a well-deserved 3–2 win for South!
